Bio & Resume

Alex Grubard started performing stand-up at 18 while working at New York Comedy Club in 2005. Six years later, after having performed at almost every comedy club, improv theater and bar in all of the five boroughs he moved from Brooklyn to Philadelphia to major in English at Temple University. Already this year Grubard was a popular comic at 2012 The Cape Fear Comedy Festival, performed a joke on abc6 in a feature on Helium Comedy Club as well as named one of the “Top 10 Philly Comedians,” “Comics to Watch in 2012” and “Top Philly Comedians in 2011” by several critics. Also in 2011 he performed in the Live Arts & Philly Fringe Festival, 1st annual F. Harold Comedy Festival, City Spotlight, POPPED! Music Festival and 25th annual First Person Arts Festival. His comedy has been seen on Comedy Central’s “Web Shows,” heard on Sirius/XM’s “Maxim Channel” and read on Campus Philly and the NY Examiner. A lively, quick paced, smart joke writer he is always a riot on stage and a quotable comedian days, weeks and months after his performances. Do you guys get him?
